This 12-night privately guided Tanzania safari travels from Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater before continuing through the Southern and Central Serengeti. The route combines four distinct areas, allowing the group to experience changing landscapes, varied wildlife habitats and a more complete picture of northern Tanzania without rushing between camps.
Arusha
The journey begins with one night at Arusha Coffee Lodge, providing time to recover from the international flight and settle into Tanzania before the safari begins. Martin and Antje will meet the group in Arusha, introduce the journey ahead and host a welcome dinner before travelling onwards together.
Starting with a dedicated arrival night also provides a valuable buffer against delayed flights and missed connections. Guests can begin the safari rested rather than stepping directly from a long-haul journey into a full day on the road.
Ngorongoro Crater
The group spends three nights at Ngorongoro Lions Paw, with two descents into the Ngorongoro Crater included. The crater supports an exceptional concentration of wildlife within a relatively compact area, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, hippos and, with some luck, black rhinos.
Many Tanzania group safaris allow only one hurried crater visit. Two descents provide more time to explore different areas, observe changing wildlife activity and respond to weather and sighting conditions. Southern Serengeti
