Where you'll Stay

Ngoma Safari Lodge

Located in the Chobe Forest Reserve just 3km from the Chobe National Park (a region renowned for its outstanding wildlife, in particular the famous Chobe Elephants, and home to more than 75 mammal and 450 bird species).

The lodge’s central area includes a well-appointed sitting room, dining room and bar area as well as a plunge pool. Each private river-facing suite offers quiet refuge, and is one of only eight luxuriously styled and spacious lodges, each complete with bath, indoor and outdoor showers and a private outdoor living area with a “refresh and relax pool”.

Due to it’s location in the Chobe Forest Reserve, the lodge can offer night drives. Activities include a full-day safari comprising a drive in the Chobe National Park, a cruise and a picnic lunch, day or night drives, walks and birding. Visits to the local village may also be arranged.

Little Machaba Camp

Little Machaba is situated in the game rich Khwai area. The Khwai Concession is a 180 000 hectare reserve situated in the north eastern Okavango adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve.

The camp is built in the classic 1950’s style, with luxury safari tents, en-suite bathrooms and living areas, not forgetting the romantic outdoor showers. All the tents are situated on decks and the pathways to the tents meander between the large riverine trees. The Main dining and bar area are also on wooden decks overlooking a large floodplain.

FAQs

Find clear answers to the most common questions about Botswana luxury safaris, the Okavango Delta, and planning your dream African adventure.

What is the best romantic safari destination in Botswana?

The Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park are two of Botswana’s most romantic safari destinations, offering private camps, breathtaking sunsets, and abundant wildlife. This itinerary combines both, giving couples a perfect balance of intimacy, adventure, and luxury in exclusive concessions.

When is the best time to visit Botswana for a romantic safari?

The best time for a romantic Botswana safari is during the dry season (May to October) when wildlife congregates around water sources, and weather is cooler and perfect for game drives or sunset mokoro rides. Green season (November to March) offers lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and great photography opportunities.

Why choose Botswana for a honeymoon or anniversary trip?

Botswana is a top choice for honeymooners because of its low-impact tourism model and private, luxury safari camps. With fewer guests per vehicle, personalized service, and secluded accommodations, couples can enjoy unmatched privacy while exploring one of Africa’s last true wildernesses.

What romantic experiences can couples enjoy on safari?

Couples can enjoy private game drives (additional costs apply), mokoro canoe excursions, boat cruises at sunset, and star-lit dinners in the bush. Camps often include surprises like champagne sundowners or bush picnics, making this safari perfect for romantic celebrations.

How private are the safari lodges in this package?

The lodges are intimate, boutique properties designed for exclusivity. Each suite or tent is spaced for privacy, with open decks overlooking wilderness views. Many feature luxury touches such as outdoor showers, plunge pools, and private dining options.

Can I combine a Botswana romantic safari with Victoria Falls or other destinations?

Yes! Botswana pairs perfectly with Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, or Cape Town for a well-rounded romantic getaway. Convenient flight connections make it easy to add cultural city breaks or adventure experiences to your safari itinerary.
